I use something similar to the Myler combination bit. It is the Martha Josey short shank combination. I use it on all my horses and they work very well in it. It divides the pressure over 4 areas, the nose, mouth, chin and poll. I like it so much I bought another one. You can find them on ebay and they are cheaper than the Myler.
