[RC] High Fat feeds - April

Right now I use beet pulp and mix in an All Grain sweet feed then add
oil as needed for my horse. I have toyed with the idea of getting the
endurance mix (beet pulp, fat, oats, corn and ?) from my co-op, or XTN
(although it's not carried where I've checked), or even Ultium. But it
brings up a question.

Do those of you that feed these high fat feeds withdraw it during
competition? If so, what do you replace it with, if anything? If not,
why not? I understood (perhaps poorly) that fat should be withheld
starting a few days before an endurance ride.

Thanks,
April
