I would like to get some feedback on how people train for multi-days and how they determine if their horse is ready.
Often, it is the rider who is unprepared for riding the same horse every day for five days, fifty miles a day.
If you can manage your horse for twenty miles, and then have the horse eat and drink sufficiently to continue his effort, you can ride him for the next leg.
Then, at the end of that day's ride, care for the horse as if you really want to ride the next day's fifty miles. You, as the owner and rider of that horse, should know what his biggest assets are and biggest liabilities.
Those factor into successfully getting through a five day ride on the same horse each day.
Prudence and focus will carry you a long way on a horse.
Knowing what is important to you and riding in a like manner will carry you a long way on a horse.
For the most part, the horse should do his part, eating, drinking and resting when able.
