My understanding is that since a horse carries most of his weight (I've
heard 60%) on his fronts, that they will wear faster.  I would expect that
traveling uphill would cause the hinds to wear more than they would
traveling on flat ground.

I'm no expert, tho, and would like to hear from others?  I agree that a
horse who doesn't use his hind quarters well would wear even more on the
front.

I would expect just the opposite, if a horse was using his hind quarters
efficiently/effectively, the hinds would wear more quickly.  A horse heavy
on the forehand should wear the fronts more quickly.  Is this a correct
assumption?
