Thanks to everyone for all the great suggestions! I did manage to find a local towing place with a big 4WD Dodge to rescue me mid morning Saturday so Holly and I could be off to my sisters for a little ride. Yep, I believe the suggestion to find 'the' horse for doing this takes the cake, tho, too!

Here's an idea that works.... use a come-a-long! Last year we managed to get our three horse trailer AND monster Ford 4x4 stuck in the yard, and Alan used a come-a-long and an obliging tree to pull both out (separately) to where we could re-hitch and drive out! It was amazing to watch! It took him about 2 hours total.
And Angie, I have missed you! I'm still giggling over your suggestion. Years ago, I used a pair of well broke shetland ponies to pull a pick-up out of the mud. They were worth their weight in gold!
