[RC] cubed hay - Patti KuvikMountain Sunrise has a variety of pellets, cubes and "compacted" hay bales. They say the pellets are "approved for wilderness and National Forest use". http://www.mountainsunrise.com/products.html Ontario Dehy has a variety of cubes, including a low-sugar timothy cube that has had the minerals balanced to a hay analysis (this cube is a smaller size than traditional cubes). http://vhost.ontariodehy.com/cubes.htm In Washington (and expanding into No. CA), Sterett Bros has a variety of pelleted hays. They also have a low-sugar mineral balanced pellet available on a limited basis and a packer pellet. http://www.sterettbroshayandfeed.com/products/index.shtml Sacate and Lakin pellets are both from AZ - would just caution that AZ hays tend to be high iron and low copper/zinc, don't know how much they compensate for this. Patti K Vail AZ From: "Jonni Jewell" <jonnij@xxxxxxxx> Subject: [RC] cubed hay Lots of cubed and pellet type hay replacements in areas with no pasture, and dense stables, such as Los Angles. Some of the stables used to buy cubes in bulk, and it arrived in a dump truck. That was all that was fed. No hay. A lot less waste, and I am sure was more economical for them. I fed a diet of hay replacement pellets for about 2 years when in CA. Horses did very, vey well. I fed Sacate brand pellets out of Arizona. They have a Bermuda / alfalfa blend. Bought them at Petsmart. A nice grade pellet. Just like hay, you can smell it, and tell if it is quality stuff, or poor grade. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
