I was going to ride the 25 with Bekki Crippen to get her through and realized at the finish that it was an elevator and I could keep going. What a great surprise! Could be good for people in that situation...a parent who wanted to do 50 but wanted to let their child do the 25 or whatever. Main problem is that you've given everyone else in your distance a one hour or so head start. That would matter a LOT on a 100. I've considered asking if my child could enter the 50, but start with me on the 100 and just go for completion only. Didn't ask because the trail was laid out in such a way that she'd have done different loops than the 50's did.
