Re: [RC] Owyhee rides or BUST oops I mean dust:-) - Ed & Wendy Hauser
I just spent the better part of two days removing
the Owyhee dust from my rig. I did a complete wash job inside and out,
fore and aft. I think that I got most of it. I have never seen dust
on a truck that was that hard to wash off. I think the dust is 50%
Portland cement.
The dust aside, both rides were the greatest.
On the FEI 100 we crewed for Candy Barbo who came in 7th on her backup
horse. I have never seen such speed with no serious metabolic
problems.
Unfortunately, Ranger did not complete his 50, but
he was fine by the time we walked him to the trailer pickup point. A
perfect example of a Rider Option metabolic pull. He had a low (36) pulse,
and B- or so gut sounds, but did not want to eat or drink enough. I pulled
him. As soon as we got to the top of the hill, he drank a half bucket of
our water, and started complaining that he was not being allowed to follow the
horses that were leaving.
We will definitely be back for the October
ride.
