Re: [RC] Sidebone - Stephanie E CaldwellWas there evidence of sidebone? I've had two sets of X-rays of Star, we're going to do front views very soon to see the exact formation, but she does have sidebones. How old was the horse? Somewhere between 6 and 9. She's an unregistered mustang. Was the horse lame? She moves rather strangley upfront when she's shod or in need of a trim. As long as I keep her barefoot and am very careful about keeping everything in it's proper balance she does okay for me. I don't know if her sidebones are contributing to her front end mystery lameness, she's got a previous shoulder and tendon injury. How was the horse used? Arena only? Trail only? Gymkhana? Endurance? NATRC? Star is used for light jumping (with rider up to 18", lunge up to 3'), trails, Dressage, barrels, cows, etc... There's nothing she won't do for me. She doesn't seem to be in any pain, sometimes when she sets her foot down it's like she stepped on a rock or somethign and she'll jerk it back up. I had no idea exactly what was going on until I had a saddler fitting us and she told me. Star will not do it for the vet or farrier. >ggg< Steph __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
