Re: [RC] 'pound dog' mentality for horses? - heidiT-man, you or I probably could go to an auction and pick up a bargain horse and find it an appropriate job and have a happy ever after story. I've rescued an occasional one myself with good success. But it's been my experience that the folks who are the most consistently successful at rescuing are the same ones who have studied what makes good breeding, and who rescue accordingly. As you said, Chris, and as others have said as well, good horses DO fall on hard times. That doesn't make them bad horses. But it still takes knowledgeable folks to consistently pick them out from the general dross that is available at auction.
