Re: [RC] [RC] Horses!!! stop with the height - heidiDid anyone ever figure out the "disposition problem"? In general, I don'tthink herd animals have disposition problems. Herd animals still definitely have unique personalities, and those can range from rogue to sweetie pie. (Just go wander through a band of broodmares, and see the differences!) As far as John Henry and other modern horses go--horses that have been selectively bred for one trait (in this case SPEED) are not culled for traits that don't interfere with the selected trait. The only limiting factor on TB dispositions is whether or not they can be gotten in a starting gate and pointed down a track--and if they have enough speed, a great deal of effort will be made to accommodate even the worst of dispositions. Additionally, modern horses are rarely kept in herd settings, and that further messes with the minds of those that have less-than-desirable or less-than-stable dispositions.
