Those are very goods points about pre-entry!  After doing a ride in April,
they had 50% more riders than in the past, the vet checks were pretty backed
up because they didn't know the # of horses would warrant more vets. SO even
if you don't pre-enter as a courtesy to RM, pre-enter for selfish reasons
[more vets!]

I do think 60 days is more than long enough to wait for a refund though.

So Dawn what ride are you going to manage?????

I would have to disagree with this statement...and my reason for
disagreeing is not as a rider who would like their entry fee back, but
rather as someone who is entering the field of ride management next spring.
I think having this policy would discourage people from pre-entering. And if
someone has pre-entered and then is courteous enough to call, they should by
all means get all of their entry fee back!! As for no-shows, there are a
number of reasons people can't make it to a ride, and I can't see punishing
someone for their truck breaking down enroute, horse getting an abcess 2
days before the ride, or something like that. Heck, give 'em their money
back. My thought is, you'll gain more in ill will by keeping it than the
money is worth. And we need to remember - we all do this for fun and it's
just a sport. No need to make it so strict and penalty-ridden.
