[RC] WNV? to Susan from a Vet - Jonni JewellHeidi (who lives in a dry area where the disease has not been reported, and has thus chosen to use neither at this point...)<<< Of course each of us must make up our OWN minds as to when and if to vaccinate for anything, but it seems from all the reports that I hear, those who wait until WNV gets TO them to vaccinate, it is too late, and it seems many horses get it. I believe areas of Nevada an California are experiencing that right now. If you hear of a case in your county, you might not be able to get your horse protected soon enough. When I heard it got to Southern parts of Texas a year (or two??) ago, I vaccinated. That was about 300 miles away, and plenty close to make me uneasy.....
