A good friend and long time endurance rider gave me a tip about electrolytes and the horses mouth. She told me to rinse my horses mouth with a couple syringes of water after dosing. I have been doing that and think I have a happier horse. It is even messier than giving the elytes, but can you imagine putting a large spoonful of salt in your mouth, swallowing it and then not being able to rinse your mouth out. YUCK! Even if you use applesauce, carrot baby food, or what ever that salt is still very overpowering.
