Re: [RC] OCD/Navicular? Supplement - JL ThompsonI've looked into Rapid Response numerous times (having had another horse two years ago with a stifle injury) and I can never seem to find any real testimonials. Only what the manufacturer says - which of course is that the product is amazing and miraculous. If I could finally find some people that have actually used it and can vouch for it, I might try it on my gelding (he's the "mystery lameness" horse). But it is hugely expensive, and without some proof, I ain't buying it. :)
Another thought though, on OCD.....I wonder if the drug Tildren could be of use there. I was told about its use in navicular disease, as it's function is to restore bone density and quality. Well, OCD is basicaly lesions in the bone, right? Maybe there have been some trials done in France using Tildren on OCD horses.
Seems like it would be worth checking out, for the person with the OCD horse.

Supplement I just happened to be going through some info and came across this, FWIW. I put navicular in the subject lien because someone had mentioned bone proliferation in their mystery lameness case, as a by-product of navicular I think.
"Rapid Response...is the best [supplement] in conditions like ringbone that involve proliferation of bone.... It also proved helpful with 2 fractures and sever, refractory OCD." - Horse Journal Oct 03
