[RC] A wonderful 30 minutes on Sunday - JL ThompsonWas reading about everybody's good and bad ride weekends, so thought I'd chime in and tell everyone what a heavenly, wonderful feeling it was to finally saddle up and be on the back of my wonderful boy, Shahtahr, after 4 months of stall rest due to his injury. I was finally given the go-ahead on Saturday to start slow rehab...30 minutes walking under saddle per day for the first month, then slowly increasing the workload. It felt sooooo good to be on him! I think he felt good too, he was perky, curious, and well-behaved (which I wasn't sure he'd be after all the confinement). He felt strong and strode out well. He spooked a little here and there, but nothing horrible. I didn't realize how much I missed riding him. :) Can't wait to get to the barn and do our 30 minutes again today. Baby steps.....
