I've just had mine, a couple of days ago. I only
tried it good tonight, since we are having thunderstorms and I didn't want it to
get wet the first day!
It is a very nice looking saddle, well made and
nice quality. This is my first experience with a treeless saddle and I thought
it would feel much more "floppy" than it does. It is very thick padded too. (I
bought it with a Grandeur pad)
The first time I tried it two days ago, just before
the rain started, I could't get on without some help, as it slipped terribly.
Same thing today.
Though when I got off during the ride tonight to
chase some flies, I thought I would have to walk home as it would be impossible
to get back on again without parking her next to a tree stump.... surprise! I
got on without any slipping, same thing later this ride. It seems to form itself
to the horses's back and adhere more so you can get on.....
I find it to be a very confortable saddle, very
soft, the stirrups are not adjustable but they are in the right place for me,
centered. A bit weird at first when you're used to an english saddle, but it
felt good very soon. There were even sweat spots on her back, dry on top of her
spine.
But I'm not sure my horse like it though.... :-(
She was very reactive, headshaking, nearly bucking, shaking (as to get rid of
flies), biting to the saddle (or just behind it, couldn't make it out)
during the ride. But, it might as well be real flies why she did this, she
is very sensitive to flies. I'll have to try again, but this time when it is
raining so there are no flies to bother us!
