Angie, I tried OF's on Star also. One of 16
brands/styles of saddles I've tried on that horse!

They were TOO narrow. The OF dealer's comment was to
add shims.  Excuse me? How is adding padding going to
make a narrow saddle fit a wide horse???

I could tell the way Star wrung his tail he hated that
saddle!

I was getting a dry spot on the left shoulder. Then
somebody on RC mentioned that their wife got onto
them for flirting with a woman they were riding with
on a loop because his horse had a dry spot on its
left shoulder and hers on the right so they'd
obviously been facing each other talking the whole
loop. I thought about it and realized I was probably
twisting to the right in the saddle to hold my
sponge out to the side. Started holding my reins in
2 hands side by side and stuffing my sponge in front
of my saddle when not in use....no more dry spots.
If you have the same problem with 3 different
horses, it may very well be you...just something to
check.
