Re: [RC] Buying/selling horses - Chris PausBette, I just have to say, that this spring, for the first time ever, I offered my in utero foals for sale at less than half their usual sale price. My DH and I have been going through some tough times and frankly, I really needed the cash. well, I got only one interested buyer for my Anglo foal, and she backed out. I understand it is scary not knowing for sure what you are going to get! Now that she has seen his photos (he's the one on the stableminds.com web site cover), she's kicking herself. Because of his quality, his price has tripled from what I offered her in March. Say la vie...He has "awesome" written all over him. Heidi has a big ranch in Idaho. I have just 15 acres of pasture in Kansas. I've already made my choice of the one I want to keep for my next forever horse, so I hope the rest find good homes and their new "moms" or "dads" are tickled pink with their new equine buddies. I wish I could keep them all, but I can't. And with each passing year, it gets harder, not easier to see them load up in a shipping van.... Chris - -- I happen to have all the quality I need now-- hard to imagine that I am still not satisfied-- and cannot wait until full maturity to evaluate all offspring. If my clients get better quality than me--- hooray for them!!! ===== "A good horse makes short miles," George Eliot Chris and Star BayRab Acres http://pages.prodigy.net/paus =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
