I have living quarters and use the porta potty instead of the one that came with it. They come in two parts. The top is filled with water to flush and the bottom is where the waste goes.
We use ours all weekend and I like to clean it out every time but have been known not to. In that case I just add another bottle of Thetfords.
When you want to dump it, you take the two halves apart and dump the waste one. Then I use the hose to rinse it out. Then put the whole thing back together and put it back in my trailer.
I have a clean out valve at my house and dump it there. They say you can just dump it in any old toilet but I don't know.
When I got mine the best one was about $100 but don't know what they cost now
