Re: [RC] The real "poop" on porta potties for a trailer - Patti KuvikI have a porta potty in my barn (someday I'll have the real thing). What I found makes a huge difference in less messy to empty/clean out is I never put TP in it - TP goes in a plastic garbage bag that can be sealed up/thrown away as needed. The de-odifier/bio-degrade stuf goes in the fresh water used for flushing. Keeping an inch or so of the "fresh" flush water in the bowl acts as a water seal to help with odor. Putting a few inches of flush water in the bowl before you use it helps flush the heavy stuff more easily without having it stick to the bowl (and smelling). I got some "no slip" placemats (any of that "tacky" shelf or tool box liner will do) to keep the PP from sliding around when the triler is moving. Patti Vail AZ The best place to dump the contents of your porta potty is at highway rest areas that have dumping stations. We're lucky that we have one a few miles from home. Get a pair of rubber gloves, use the dump station and avoid a possible "mess" when trying to dump the contents down your toilet at home. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
