RE: [RC] RE: AHA Letter/Three digits - heidiThis is interesting since we were just discussing it a few weeks ago when we printed out a list of all the members in the West to look up or check current members for the OH ride. There are only 3 members in the West with 3 digit numbers and after that it pretty much goes alphabetical until about #2500. There is even one member with 6 digits before they went to the MXXXXX. G--11061 The 3-digit W region riders likely moved to the W region after the numbering system started--unless their names started early in the alphabet and W got their numbers right after NW. I think W was on the tail end of the numbering scheme--as Bob pointed out, the W folks who were members before the system started go clear up into the 2000s somewhere. That's why I was mentioning that in order to figure out who was before the numbering system, one would have to ask Joe where it cut off that first year. And as Nina pointed out, it is also now possible to have "custom" numbers that are out of sequence--I don't think that was the case to start with (other than Joe's own... <g>) but again likely Joe can answer that. :-) Heidi =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
