She was wrong about the hand writing (who could have predicted personal computers in 1950), but right about spelling. Breeching is the proper spelling, and yes it is pronounced "britch'n" in MT. In your defense, Ed, Joe Back (who wrote HORSES, HITCHES, AND ROCKY TRAILS, aka "The Packer's Bible") does defer to "proper English" and calls it a "breeching" as well. <g> But I've seen it written as "britchen" in this neck of the woods more times than I can count... ;-) So I just had to josh you about it... It's one of those deals like how a "jaquima" became a "hackamore", etc...
