[RC] Last Thursday - DreamWeaver

As it turns out, we were heading up towards Dugway Pass when up ahead we saw a backup of rigs. I quickly recognized the irony of the situation, when as we rode up to the front rig (aka The Mothership -- Laura Haye's rig) was broke down. This time at least, it was a simple flat tire. Yet still, I couldn't help but thinking back to '01 when coming up Dugway Pass from the other side Terry Wooley's MH broke down (aka The Roach Motel), creating a backlog of rigs.....hence the following poem.


STUCK AT DUGWAY PASS

Just a day or two ago We set out on the road Seeking our way to camp at Boyd's Pulling a heavy load But things got bad, things got worse You know the XP tune Oh Lord, stuck at Dugway Pass at noon
A rig was pulling hard Up the big long grade ahead The engine overheated It coughed and then went dead The rigs lined up in one long queue We kicked back and had a brew Oh Lord, it's so tough being a crew
In the heat of the day we sat Thinking of this and that To whoever would solve this mess We would gratefully tip our hat Then Ron and Dennis came charging through With the meanest winch bar none Oh Lord, it looks like we dodged yet another one
