Over the winter months I join a local drill team. We gather early
morning at the local fair ground, they have a covered arena, and we work for a
couple of hours. There is nothing formal about it, different people
different weeks. We are lucky because the gal that heads the drill has
formed drill teams in the past and is very knowledgeable. I find this an
excellent way to get my horse used to being beside another strange
horse. It is also beneficial because your horse and
you have to ride as a team with whomever is your partner during the drill
team work.
