Re: [RC] Fw: Hopkins Creek ride story part one - heidi

This is incredible! Is this really possible? Has anyone ever heard of an
average time like that? I am not disputing it, just find it amazing.

Yes, given good footing and good conditions. I have on at least one
occasion seen a sub-3 hour 50, where the entire ride was covered that
fast. But have certainly seen speeds like that with front runners on the
last leg of a ride, on several occasions. Have even ridden a few last
legs approaching that sort of speed in my younger and more fit years, and
I'm not near as talented as many riders, even though I've been blessed
with some good horses.

Never ceases to amaze me what horses can do, and still be in beautiful
shape after doing so...

Just because someone tells you that your horse isn't "fit" for
endurance...doesn't mean it isn't, it just means your horse isn't fit to be
"their" endurance horse! Go for it, you never know what you'll accomplish
with that "saddle horse" or "trail horse" of YOURS!
