Re: [RC] was Paragon Saddle - now Indian made - Rosalie MarleyThat's true, but since there's so much variation, it would be something to check out in person or at least with a reasonable return policy. If I could see it, I 'd have more confidence. Ebay probably isn't the right place for that :-) I bet the water buffalo hide is really tough! My husband plays congas and the drum heads are water buffalo. Thanks to all who replied. Sounds like the gullet is too narrow (5.5 inches), regardless of the quality, so I'll pass on this one. I got a $300 paragon knock off made in India. Wasn't a regency, don't remember the name brand. It was really well built. Had a good tree, etc. Got it for my husband. It fit our Morgan-Saddlebred cross perfectly and was a real pleasure to ride in on trails. It had a funky smell though. I took it to my local saddler to have it checked over. He said it was constructed very well and that the funky smell was the leather... it was made of water buffalo hide! He said it should last forever. After a few cleanings, the smell went away. I really liked that saddle. Sold it when we sold the horse as the saddle didn't fit my Arabs. chirs ============================================================ And remember, an arab's fourth gait is the spook! ~ Jeanie Miller ridecamp.net information: http://www.endurance.net/ridecamp/ ============================================================
