Ok that was Jim's training method which is so organized and good , but here is mine :-) By the time my foals are weaned they are used to me walking up behind them grabbing their tails all the time and giving little tugs on them , then I start letting them pull me for a step or two around the corral as I am feeding or whatever I am doing out there with them . Then when I get to ride with my horse and come to a steep hill , I get off and have a friend lead my horse up with me tailing up the hill or I just get off yell at the person in front of me to grab my horse if he comes running by and again tail up :-)  I have never lost a horse yet :-) Or gotten kicked in training :-)
