A horse is a gestalt and something too long or short might be compensated but another portion of the horse and simply, how he is put together as a whole. I would recommend you have someone in your area who is a true horseman, and it doesn't have to be in the area of one breed or another, because, as Heidi has said, good conformation is good conformation, and analyze your horse for you--- not only on appearance which often times is misleading-- but more importantly on MOVEMENT and athletic ability. Look at Seattle Slew and Seabiscuit---- whoever in their right mind would have looked at either one and said--- "Now there's a winner!"
