NATRC is another option for us, as is reining, show

it is, is the equivalent of telling the poor sod who can only
do 9 holes of golf that he is not a real golfer and should take up
croquet. Well, he might not be a real golfer, and for sure he won't do
the Masters, but he still enjoys those 9 holes and improves his game when he
plays them.
Dana, I really am offended that you compare NATRC to reining, show
jumping, dressage, polo and GOLF (let alone 9 holes of GOLF) and then
Croquet!!! <gasp>. NATRC is a sport that requires far more finesse
than any 50 mile endurance ride I know of. It takes horsemanship, lots
of training and skill, your horse is basically being BC judged the entire
weekend, two days for 60 miles. Please don't ever compare this wonderful
sport to GOLF!!!! I am talking about riding in the Open division of
NATRC. Also, keep in mind that the Tevis BOD decided to allow 3 NATRC
Open rides as an equivalent to the 3 50 miler qualification...why do you think
they did that? Because we're a bunch of golfers?
I believe that endurance is AERC and that means 50 miles and over and
that NATRC is a great sport in its own right that requires some different
skills. LD Awards? NO...but that's just my opinion.
