Right, and isn't 7% about a good protein level for an adult horse?  Gosh,
hard to find hay that low...last
thing I want to feed is high-protein feed.

Interesting...but 12% protein still seems a bit high.  I would stay at
10% or under.  I hope

I would tend to agree--most of us are dealing with quality forages that
have more than enough protein for a working horse as it is...

Just because someone tells you that your horse isn't "fit" for
endurance...doesn't mean it isn't, it just means your horse isn't fit to be
"their" endurance horse! Go for it, you never know what you'll accomplish
with that "saddle horse" or "trail horse" of YOURS!
