Re: [RC] Setting Fire to Tents a/k/a Cut-throat Competition - Barbara McCraryVandalizing of ribbons is fairly common and has been going on for a LONG time. On my first endurance ride, in 1971, someone not only removed ribbons from the correct trail, but re-hung them on trees going up a mountain. After I had gone some distance (and following the tracks of other riders who had been fooled), the ribbons stopped and I was hopelessly confused. It was in an area that just led me around in circles. Finally, the drag riders came along and helped me get straightened out. I've never heard of such sabatoge. I was at a ride where someone, not a rider, pulled about 1/4 mile of ribbon from a trail. It was right at a cross roads area, so no one knew which way to go. It held up a whole string on 50 milers for almost an hour before we got word back to ride camp that we were all lost. ============================================================ If you treat an Arab like a Thoroughbred, it will behave like a Quarter horse. ~ Libby Llop ridecamp.net information: http://www.endurance.net/ridecamp/ ============================================================
