No.  Remember that everything about the story
is complete fiction.  There was no "Hidalgo."

Actually, it's interesting how many different
groups' interests are served by continuing to
believe the story is true.  But even if you insist
on believing Hopkins, remember that Hopkins
himself said that he had to leave Hidalgo in
Arabia.  The horse never came home and never
sired anything, even in Hopkins' fantasy world.

At least keep your fantasies factual!
