Re: [RC] ultimate endurance ride - Barbara McCrary
His last name was Tschiffly or Tscheffly
(spelling?) but I don't remember his first name. And I think the second
horse's name was Mano ("hand" in Spanish), if my memory is
accurate.
Last week I was talking to a friend about endurance riding and
she mentioned the fact that in 1925 or 1926 ( she was 5-6 year old at that
time and living on a ranch close to Laredo, TX) she met a man who was on a
ride with two horses from Argentina to Washington DC. He spend the night at
their ranch and let her (my friend) sit on his horses. She has a beautiful
picture of this endurance rider posing with his two horses at their
ranch. She does not remember the rider's name, but she knows that
the horses were named "Gato" and "Mancho". She knows he wrote a book
about his travels which we both would love to read. Does anybody
know this person's name?
Thanks,
Maria Berger, TX
