Re: [RC] [RC] [Guest] response to "taking care of horses when they pass" - Shelley Kerr
In my area we are lucky enough to have a place to take horses.
It's called Cattails. They rescue large cats; cougars, lions, tigers
and they even have a liger. They are really great to work with for
these type of matters. I feel a little better knowing that my horses
didn't die for nothing and we're helping in another way that wouldn't be
possible without this place. Losing a horse or helping them to die
is difficult enough without having to feel guilty about how or why it
happened because of people who aren't in that situation. I always
find the tree huggers are the ones that use the most paper.

No flames from me. I have said many times, there are worse
things that can happen to a horse [or any animal for that matter] than
dying. Once they are dead they are beyond caring. Their souls, if you
believe they have them, are gone. I realize that some people cannot stand
the idea of their beloved pet being cut up, left to the wild animals,
hauled off by the knackers, etc., however, they should not attack those of
us who handle it that way.
