[RC] Fragile bones - Sue Riegel WilliamsI have oesteoporosis and have lost over 20% of my bone density. One thing my docs told me is that over-the-counter calcium does not rebuild bone, it only helps to maintain what you've got. If there are other factors that continue to cause you to lose bone density, like sedentary lifestyle (not anyone on this list!), high alcohol and/or coffee intake, etc., you must take something that will help your body add bone otherwise the bone loss will continue. There are several products available by Rx that will do this. I take the once a week Fosamax plus 1500-2000 mg of calcium (citrate or lactate) daily. Do get a bone scan so you know what you're working with and have a base line for future comparisons. Sue ------------------------------------------------------------ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
