Who would pay? Would it be done at the ride site (where?), would moving the horse contaminate the evidence, what if the owner was opposed, which vet(s) would do it, ? I'd like your ideas on how to address these issues as it might help me see the advantage. I'm not sure I believe any of this would be a deterrent only because I think few of us ever see ourselves in the misdeeds and poor judgment of others. I like the idea of a deterrent but I think in general people tend to be more of the persuasion that "I would never do that or cause that to happen." Thanks for your thoughts. Some of the reasons were the trauma to an already upset owner, the inconvenience of doing it during an endurance ride, the cost, who was to pay, the inconclusive results often obtained and so on in finitum. I still believe it a good idea and tremendous deterrent.
