[RC] Motions before the Board next month - Michael MaulBob, In response to your note on RC about information concerning what the BoD will have on the agenda for the March meeting - I've tried to make the information available when there is something reasonably complete to post. The material has to come from the AERC office for me to make it available on the AERC site. I've done this for the past two years(4 meetings) and it unfortunately doesn't seem to come together until about 2 weeks before the meeting. It would be nice to have it available a month ahead of time(and available to the members in EN) as your post to the BoD requested. The BoD did get your post. Here's a personal comment on the availability of material. If the convention is March 14 and the members should have 30 days to review it per your request - that means it must be in the Feb. issue of EN. EN for Feb. goes to the printer the first week in January. This means discussion of the material and review by the appropriate committees must occur in the month of December or earlier given that the holiday season is busy for us all. This is a long lead time plus it could preclude having something at the meeting that came up after December. You are right that it would be ideal if the complete membership would have 30 days to consider all the issues to be presented. Given that we - the Directors - are all volunteers at this and have day jobs as well - in practice it just doesn't happen. And while the process could be shortened by online availability of the material - about 1/3 of our members are not online. And of those online - not all are diligent about reading email or visiting websites. Bottom line here is that there will be an agenda and motions posted in the next few weeks as the convention approaches. The BoD always appreciates as much feedback as we can get from members even on short notice. I hope to see you all at the convention in Tennessee.
