Re: [RC] Death Valley Encounter - TypefYep, I would always leave both roof vents open, and maybe even a window a crack. I didn't buy it for us, but for the horse compartment to dry the blankets out when we alternate coolers. We would only use it if for some reason we ran out of battery and couldn't use the heater in the trailer. I'm the webmaster for johnnycash.com and am unfortunately, well aware of what a propane heater can do. June's daughter Rosie and her friend died that way last month when they were using these types of heaters in a converted bus. ----- Original Message ----- From: <RhndLev@xxxxxx> To: <typef@xxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Tuesday, December 23, 2003 6:32 PM Subject: Re: [RC] Death Valley Encounter In a message dated 12/19/03 4:32:27 PM Central Standard Time, typef@xxxxxxxxxxx writes: << We just bought a great little Coleman 3,000 btu heater that is for tents, campers and ice fishing huts. >> Be really careful with these. A friend and I decided to use one on our last ride NATRC a few weeks ago and nearly suffocated. It wasn't fumes, but the little thing sucked all of the air out of the trailer. I woke up gasping for air and we had to open the door for a while. Be careful that you have sufficient ventilation.
