[RC] Who REALLY knows ? - Jonni JewellTina posted :>>>I'd be inclined to think, based on personal experience, that some (maybe all?) of that difference is from the GPS losing satellites and not capturing all the distance travelled.<<< (which was in response to catfishs comment of >>>> Got myself a GPS not too long ago and did a bit of "study". <snip> the study I did was simple. I went to all my riding buddies and rode with them. For as long as I knew them, they all talked about how far they rode<snip>When I actually rode with them, would you believe that some of them were off by as much as 15 miles per training ride?<<< Now, I could be wrong here, but I "thought" Catfish was saying that the riding buddies had thought they knew how far they were going, (without some sort of measuring device...just "feel"???) And that when they rode with the GPS Catfish had, that when asked "how far was that", some of them were WAY off in their guesses. Am I on the right track Catfish? Or do they ride with GPS's, and they are getting incorrect readings......
