[RC] ques for vets: vet-temp, pet-temp thermometers - A. PerezI found web a company on the that makes infra-red ear thermometers for animals: 'Vet-Temp' for veterinarians, 'Pet-Temp' for home-use by pet-owners. I called the company to ask if they worked on horses, and they said in theory there is not reason they shouldn't, but they have not done any testing on horses. They do work on dogs, cats, ferrets... lots of different critters. Is there any reason they would not work on horses? At $80 per unit, I do not want to buy one to find out. My filly will let me mess with her ears but the one time I tried to put my hand under her tail she had a fit! Since the infra-red type thermometers can take a reading in one second, seems like a safer way to go.
