Re: [RC] Selenium again - Heidi SmithWhen I first inquired of RideCamp re: selenium, Roger Rittenhouse sent a very nice post recommending Mega-Sel- liquid, smells wonderful, mixes easily, horses like it- Se is 1 mg /oz, Vit E 50 IU/oz... I also found, and use, Equ-SeE from K-V as it has 1 mg Se and 220 IU per teaspoon. About $7/lb...It's powder, mixes easily and in the small amt isnt noticed by the horses... Am I missing something here? or is this a very reasonably priced concentrated supplement? In light of the other posts, I'm now wondering what I've overlooked... I don't have a current label on EqU-SeE, but it used to be 2 mg of Se per teaspoon, as I recall, and was by far the best priced supplement on the market a few years ago for the amount of selenium that it provided. And because it only provided selenium and vitamin E, one could up the dose of it if need be without increasing other nutrients that didn't need to be increased.
