Check out your areas for The Back Country Horsemen. They are a
national organization functioning as a watch dog on trail and back country horse
use, main purpose is "To perpetuate the commomn sense use and enjoyment of
horses in America's back country and wilderness lands."
It's the same here in
Maryland. One of my friends in a local trail group says she sees the
bikers out doing work on trails, but she can never get horse people to come
out and do anything.
I have said for years that the
horse people are basically apathetic and arrogant about trail use. If
we joined with the hikers and bikers, we would be unbeatable. The
mountain bikers here are numerous and
