RE: [RC] [Guest] Wintec's & white spots (was American-Flex saddles) - Linda Cowles... my beat-up 10-year-old Wintec Pro Endurance and he was fine. The reason I bought the new saddle was that he had started getting white patches on his withers just in the last year or so. Could the Wintec just be worn out? These white patches occur with the older style Wintecs and perhaps with the new as well.... my experience is older Wintec's. When you palpate the bottom of the saddle, you can feel the stirrup-hangers. I suspect that not standing at the trot and posting off of your upper leg vs. off the stirrup might help. I don't know if the newer Wintec's are made differently. The stirrup bars on the older ones I get in my shop are much more noticeable than on the newer styles, but that could be because of use or the breakdown of the padding materials.
