RE: [RC] Equine Impact studies available. - Andria Loyd[Original Message] From: David LeBlanc <dleblanc@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: Lari Shea <larishea@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>; <ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Date: 11/3/2003 11:25:05 PM Subject: RE: [RC] Serious trail alert; please read and forward Does anyone know what studies have been done on the impact of horse trails? I'm new here and haven't had a chance to read all the messages in this string, but I was on the board of directors of a trail advocacy group in Northern California. We headed up an equine impact study which is in the final completion stages with the local college. However there have been several other studies completed and one in particular is posted for anyone to read. It can be accessed at http://www.bayequest.com/advocacy/index.htm From there they can direct you to other groups that have dealt with trail closures and misinformation of the "harm" horses do to trails. I hope this helps some. When I have a chance I will e-mail a formal introduction of myself and my horses to the group. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
