Re: [RC] Being Forced to Do An LD - Tina HicksWell when your horse is amongst 50 or more of his closest friends he may tend to get a little high spirited even if that's not his normal nature :) Starting at the back or after the group helps but your horse still knows that the entire camp just went That Away. If you've done your homework (and it sounds like you have), your horse will likely do fine. Just remember that that they are herd animals; they come to a ride and become part of big new herd. Everyone's fit and excited on ride morning compounded by all the riders being a bit excited; then all at once the herd starts moving in the same direction, in some cases at a high rate of speed. If you keep this in mind you won't be so shocked when your horse acts a bit different at the start of ride than at home.
