High stakes rides should not be run on flat track courses. Ft. Howe is a lovely ride, with excellent management, but I do not (and am not alone) consider it a championship level, world class course. The ROC would have never selected it for a course. Review the video footage of the top horses finishing Ft. Howe in 2002. Then, look at some video of the top horses finishing Tevis.
