Re: [RC] Distance between vetchecks - Sisu West RanchCompletely correct, I was pointing out our problem which is: You can't make a high stake race completely safe and you can't expect that the top competitors will just stop to let their horses rest. I do feel that the course designers can take this into account by having an early vet check if possible, and make sure that the early vet checks are on the longish side. (without necessarily increasing total hold time) Will this stop all metabolic problem? NO Will it slow down the race? NO Will it help some horses? YES Do riders have ultimate responsibility? YES Should riders be encouraged to stop and rest as their mounts require? YES Is the problem complex and solutions hard and not obvious?
