However, on high profile races (like the PAC) it is extremely likely that many competitors will not stop for enough rest unless vet checks are provided. The reason is simple, the winner will be a horse that does not require extra stops on that particular day. For that reason I believe that course design for champ rides must be different than for ordinary rides.
