[RC] [Guest] 10 year horse - Ridecamp ModeratorSally Hafkemeyer hafke7@xxxxxxxWhile I take no credit for his successes, I'm privileged to have in my barn a wonderful 22yr old horse named Farazjurs Fari. My son Danny had been riding him in UMECRA CTR, but this year started doing 50 endurance with Fari. They've completed 310 miles so far this season. Fari's owner is Danny's "Granny Janny" Worthington. I'm sure when Jan started with Fari back in 1989, she never dreamed he'd be teaching her grandson to ride. According to AERC records, Fari started endurance in 1989 and has 2825 AERC miles to date. He's completed twelve 100 milers, including a 6th place finish at the 97 ROC w/Lari Shea aboard. Fari's carried a few other riders, including Louise Riedel. In addition he has many UMECRA Competitive miles. Fari is a big-boned, rangy gelding with a huge trot and incredible pulse recoveries. Danny loves to tease me at vet checks by telling me how low Fari's pulse is as I wait for my first year horse to recover to parameters. Just a great horse who loves what he's doing.
